Biography
I create pleasing, one-of-a-kind images which focus on color and sophisticated whimsy.
Sculptor and painter Kathy Berenstein treats art as a passion. A daily mission she creates in her Colorado home. Her work contains elements of humor, charm and originality. Her subjects are enlightened with color, movement and a splash of spontaneity.
Starting with sculpture, Kathy Berenstein, creates busts, animals, and people. She then applies the sculptures to canvas adding and changing color with oils, and acrylics. With frames, she adds depth and another layer of color to make her images stand out.
Kathy Berenstein started out showing her work at 21st Century Gallery, Gallery M, Whistling Pig, and Renaissance Gallery. Eager to expand her repertoire, she studied sculpture with the Chapungu of Zimbabwe at the Denver Botanic Gardens. She has an Associate of Arts from Menlo College, Bachelors of Arts from Antioch University and a certificate in Art Appraisal from UC-Irvine. Her training has helped her to develop excellent execution, and composition of ideas. Her work has benefited from studies in color, design balance and given her an original outlook.
