Biography
I make digital and analogue films with communities, individuals and other artists, using formal methods like the filmic portrait, the interview and the performance to the camera, employing filmic elements as poetic structures. Interested in minor languages within dominant cultures and migratory/transient experiences. My films explore the illusory space of the filmic image and the physical space of the celluloid or digital surface.
I appropriate found materials and relational structures for new interaction and collaboration approaches: co-founded an epic UK-wide project, winner of Deutsche Bank Award for Art, and co-curator on an acclaimed filmmaker's collective. I participate on Corners Europe, a 3 year project (2015-2018) working with artists and audiences in public space on the peripheries of Europe.
My work has been shown at The Whitney Museum of American Art, Benaki Museum Athens, ICA, BFI, IKON Gallery, Chisenhale Gallery.
