BIOGRAPHY
MAURO DI GIROLAMO, alias “El Pintor” for his Erasmus experience in Valencia (Spain) in 2007/’08, born in Palermo (Italy) on 08/09/1984 where he lives and works, the mythic year of the famous book by George Orwell. In 2001 he graduated from artistic high school “Damiani Almeyda”. In 2006 he graduated in “Painting” and then in 2008 he has a law graduated in “ Visual arts and show discipline” at the Academy of Fine Arts of Palermo.
In 2004 he created an Artistic Movement “The rebellion of art” and then in 2009 “The Neo Existence Expressionism”. His paining is based on a multi material, after learning to paint in a classic style as the famous Caravaggio painter. He often uses an instinct artistic language, with a determined and fast style. He mixes ancient techniques to paint with strong and contemporary messages or modern techniques to paint classic figurative pictures. He is very sensible to the social problems, in particular the human identity. He’s take against every war in favour of peace.
In the last two years he has the famous photographer Oliviero Toscani and the Major of Salemi Vittorio Sgarbi, the famous art critic; so his picture are in many vip’s homes.
He has taken part in many personal art exhibitions in Spain and Italy and he loves photography, movies and every artistic experience. Recently he has taken part in a flamenco ballet in Palermo and he is known by the local television and newpapers.
