Biography

Ricardo Palmieri, 1978 (vj palm) is architect, multimedia producer and researcher of free tools for artistic production. Since 1998 he has been in dialogue with the potential of computer use to produce ubiquitous systems. He started his artwork with Renato Cohen at MidiaKa performance group, and worked as a VJ (video jockey) in parties and raves, including participation in meetings like 1st VJBR at MIS-SP, and events of Hypersonica FILE-SP.
Since 2003 is open source tools user and activist, researching multimedia production in real-time (interactivity, livecoding, circuitbending), as well intelligent systems to generate autonmous content (artificial intelligence and generative process).
Actually is the mais coordinator of MemeLab (São Paulo semi-public medialab) and consultant of interactive custom medias for artists and advertisement events, as well teacher in SENAC University and Istituto Europeu di Design (both in São Paulo).
In 2009 as artist, earn the Vivo ArteMov Locative Medias 1st Prize, and in 2010 receive honor mention in Prix Ars Electronica with the development of the piece Mobile Crash by Lucas Bambozzi).
