Biography

Agent Morton is the result of Serena Morton’s lifelong love of art. Born in London to an artistist family, she grew up surrounded by art, music and books. She worked first in fashion, music and television in London and Melbourne and then made a formal move into the art world when she joined Christie’s in 1994. There, in the print department and 20th-century British Paintings and Sculpture, she developed both a keen eye and a sound understanding of the art market. In 1998, she staged the first of many pop-up shows in Brick Lane and continued in diverse places over the next few years. In Spring 2006, she became curator of Scream, Ronnie Wood’s gallery in Mayfair, and launched the venture with a sell-out show of Damian Elwes’s paintings. A dynamic programme of bi-monthly exhibitions of work by renowned and rising artists followed until Serena left to start Agent Morton. In 2009-2010 she launched Morton Metropolis with Raye Cosbert and is planing to open another gallery in central London in 2011.
Agent Morton likes to nurture and support artists and takes similar care of her clients, who include fine-art consultants and collectors, both established and brand-new.
