Biography
Sofia studied Visual Arts at the UFRN, Brazil, concluding the course with a final work about family memory in 2011. Later, in 2012, attends the Master in Research in Art and Creation in the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM) with a thesis on micropolitics in arts and the constant searching of the artist. These thematic are currently being investigated in his PhD, also in the UCM, focusing on indecision and rhythm.
At first, she worked with interferences on photos (paintings, collages, digital prints), seeking to fill the spaces spontaneously like coloring books as a child. This practice led her to study the issue of registration of the landscape, the point of view and the transmission and survival of memories and spaces. She also approached then to the installation and performance. Literature was always her creative device.
