Biography
Lúa Ribeira Cendán is an emerging photographer born in A Coruña, Spain, 1986. She studied a BA in Audiovisual Communication and Graphic Design at the University of Vigo. During this period she received a grant to continue her studies at Tecnologico de Monterrey, Mexico and finally graduated at The University of Barcelona in 2008.
Last year she graduated 1st BA HONS in Documentary Photography at The University of South Wales, Newport. Lua’s work has been awarded with Firecracker Grand 2015, Ditto Press Scholarship 2015, and the Reginald Salisbury Fund 2016. She has participated in The Independent Air Residency, Denmark 2015 and various group exhibitions in the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy and Germany. Her work has been selected by Photo España 2014, British Journal of Photography, Ian Parry Scholarship 2015, Emcontros da Imagem Discovery Awards 2015, Gazebook Photobook Festival, A Fine Beginning, Contemporary Welsh Photography.
